Mondays are my assigned reference desk days which I prefer the most due to the constant interactions with Patrons. This day encompasses my supervisor (Kelly) and I reviewing the books that I weeded out the previous time using the crew method. Even though she mentioned the method is getting outdated, she still does prefer it and as we are a small special district, she has more flexibility on what to do.
We went through about 50 books I pulled from the Juvenile shelf which I put in a book cart to review. We went one by one looking at the inventory list as well to ensure that the publication date and circulation was correct. Out of 50 books I pulled I got about 35 right which she was very happy about. She is very graceful as she knows this is super hard because some of the books could go either way. She let me know that other staff struggle at times and no one has been perfect when it has come to this.
Besides that, the rest of the time was helping Patrons with computer issues and printing
